The Aran Islands 

Travel to the ferry port of Rossaveal by public coach where you will take a ferry to Inis Mor one of the three Aran Islands. When you arrive on the Island you can catch a local bus from the pier, or if you're fit enough hire a bicycle! You can tour the island by coach and visit Dun Aengus, the Iron Age fort built as four concentric stone walls. The fort has been called the “most magnificent barbaric monument in Europe”. You will visit the monastery of St. Brecan at the “Seven Churches”. You will also see the only clochan or beehive-cell built with dry-wall corbelling on Inis Mor. 

When you return to Rossaveal you will board the public bus that will transfer you back to Galway City.
